Wonderful area attractions!
For local attractions, the B&B is within easy walking distance of The Harpers Ferry National Historic Park (significant for John Brown's raid and its civil war armory). There are also restaurants, antique and gift shops, churches, The C&O Canal bike path, hiking trails like the Appalachian Trail and the town is also home for the Appalachian Trail Conference Headquarters.
It is also within easy driving distance to Historic Antietam Battlefield, Charles Town Races, water sports (fishing, canoes, tubes, and rafts) on the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers, more antique shops, many more fine restaurants and Summit Point Road Course. If you are an Art or Print collector, there are local shops that sell artwork and prints and Custom Picture Framing is available in the Guest House Frame Shop.
Seasonal attractions include Harpers Ferry’s Olde Tyme Christmas for two weekends in December, a vibrant and fragrant flowering of trees and flowers in April and May, and the foliage on the cliffs and hills overlooking Harpers Ferry is absolutely beautiful in the fall. Peak color is generally during the 2nd and 3rd weeks of October.
